Grounds and Issues of Inclusion of Religious Traditions in the Process of Civic identity Formation: Foreign Experience

This article presents an analysis of foreign experience in understanding the reasons for the inclu-sion of religious traditions in the process of forming a civic identity, as well as a number of problems and risks associated with it. Based on an interdisciplinary approach, the author examines the stated topic from the standpoint of philosophy, sociology, jurisprudence and political science. Thus, the author identifies philosophical, theological, sociological, political and other grounds in order to form a dialogical platform for the interaction of religion, the state and society. Through a comprehensive analysis, the relevance and possible effectiveness of focusing on the use of religious traditions in the formation of civic identity, as well as the preservation and strengthening of cohesion in society, was revealed. A special emphasis was placed on the existing and potential issues related to the specifics of state-confessional relations and the diversity of approaches to them.
