The purpose of criminal sanctions for juveniles is doubly determined. First, we start from the general purpose of criminal sanctions - suppression of acts that violate or threaten the values protected by criminal law. Thus certain general purpose of criminal sanctions is complemented by a specific determination of the purpose of criminal sanctions, which applies only to minors. Accordingly, the purpose of criminal sanctions for minors is, through supervision, providing protection and assistance, as well as providing general and vocational training, to have an effect to the development and strengthening responsibility of a minor, to education and adequate development of his personality, in order to ensure the reintegration of minors into a social community. In the context of the previously mentioned facts, the specific purpose of the juvenile criminal sanctions includes the imposition and implementation of educational measures which will provide for special preventive effects.
