Basic educational program as a regulation for preparing professional personnel for the tourism industry

The article discusses the main development directions for modern vocational education and the characteristics of the competent personnel training for the tourism industry in the conditions of level education and the profile of the educational program. The authors consider priorities in the economy innovative development and creating the continuing professional education system. The article discloses the key directions of the educational system in tourism of the Russian Federation and gives a list of training areas specialties, and professions for training graduates for the tourism industry. The authors consider the list of educational programs of vocational education, which include educational programs of primary vocational education, educational programs of secondary vocational education); educational programs of higher education (undergraduate programs, specialist programs and / or master's programs), postgraduate education programs (including continuing professional education programs). The article describes a model for the students' competencies formation in accordance with the training profile and the employers’ requirements and the system of mastering the competences by students in implementing a specialized tourism educational program. As a result of the work, the authors propose the profile educational program model meeting the requirements of the tourism industry employers, and qualification requirement parameters for specialists that are in demand in the tourism industry.
