Nowadays, we are witnessing a crisis of ethical values that affects all spheres of society. In this context, it is necessary to turn to research into the foundations of fundamental ethical values. The article considers the key aspects of Buddhist social ethics and their impact on modern society. We have identified three main sources of Buddhist social ethics: philosophical principles based on non-violence, kindness, and compassion, as well as interconnectedness of all living things in the world. Thus, the principle of ahimsa (non-violence) is one of the central ethical principles of Buddhism, the core of its social philosophy. Kindness and compassion also play an important role in Buddhist ethics, forming the basis for moral behavior and interactions between people. The principle of dependent arising permeates Buddhist ethics and forms the foundation of social responsibility, as humans cannot exist in isolation from society and nature. It is concluded that Buddhist ethics offers time-tested tools and approaches for building a more just and compassionate society, solving global environmental problems, and wisely navigating a rapidly changing world.
