This article outlines the main modern schools of strategic planning. Special attention is paid to the consideration of one of the most popular approaches to strategic planning - the Igor Ansoff model. A brief description of the above-mentioned method is given, as well as the main strengths and weaknesses are identified. The relevance of using a well-developed mechanism for forming an industrial business strategy is also justified.
