Main results of the West-Siberian team of Institute of archaeology and ethnography SB RAS field research in Baraba forest-steppe in 2018

The article presents an overview of the main results of the West Siberian archaeological team of IAET SB RAS works in 2018field season. Excavations were carried out at Tartas-1 comprising the sites of different ages and cultures, and at a multicomponent complex represented by the Neolithic site of Ust-Tartas-1 and the Ust-Tartas-2 burial ground. During the works, there were identified new economic activity zones of the Early Neolithic (the Baraba Neolithic culture) associated with fish preservation and storage. The Bronze Age burials of the Ust-Tartas, Odino, Krotovo, Andronovo (Fedorovo) and Pakhomovo archaeological cultures as well as one burial of the Early Iron Age were investigated. Also, remains of the Krotovo culture settlement complex were found. An important result was the establishment of a planigraphy of sites and distinctive features of the Odino and Krotovo burial grounds.
