The major congresses and conferences of the nineteenth century and their role in the development of international law

The article is devoted to historical-legal analysis of major congresses and conferences which held jointly by the main actors of international law, including the Russian State in the nineteenth century. The system of congresses and conferences is being overall characterized; the main results that are most important of them are being analyzed. The conclusions were drawn on the influence of international congresses and conferences on the genesis of international organizations as institutional forms of cooperation between States; in terms of content there are denoted the main results of the work of congresses and conferences; the principles of international law which worked out by them during the period under review and specifically had an impact on the development of contemporary international law are formulated in the paper.
