A complex analysis of data on the urbanized territories ecological condition and perennial geo-ecological researches of the urban environment have allowed us to develop a system of multi-purpose geo-monitoring and to determine basic principles of its optimization, connected with a rational observation network, the use of landscape-functional complexes as the objects of monitoring, and also the development of strategic and tactical actions aimed at the ecological situation support and further improvement.
