The article examines the codifi cation of the Russian Empire’s legislation in the 19th century, including the systematization of legal norms in the Baltic governorates. The theoretical and methodological foundations of codifi cation, historical prerequisites, and results are analyzed, highlighting key aspects of integrating local laws into the imperial legal system. The practical results of codifi cation reforms are systematized.
