The article examines the professional development of a teacher as a continuous educational process. The article analyzes the concept of “continuous development”, as well as the applicability of this concept in pedagogical activity. On the example of the city of Moscow, the ways of improving the professional competence of a teacher are described. The main directions of Moscow educational institutions and educational centers of advanced training are given.
