Main directions of perspective development of urban passenger transport: theory and practice of application of methods of urban passenger transport survey

At the moment, urban passenger transport takes the first place in terms of demand for transport among the population, but despite this, they have many problems and disadvantages. In many cities of the Russian Federation, due to the increase in the level of labor and business activity, the population has an increased need for travel. All this leads to a rapid increase in the demand for movement, both in terms of quantity (volume of traffic) and quality (comfort, safety and reliability of transport). Comprehensive approaches and measures are needed to solve problems. The article examines the main directions of the future development of urban passenger transport. The research is based on the method of survey of transport mobility of the population, which allows forming strategies for the development of urban passenger transport. A list of necessary measures to improve the efficiency of urban passenger transport is proposed.
