Main work areas of the academic journal's editorial board

The article presents the analysis of work done by the academic journal's editorial board. Using the electronic journal “Territorial Development Issues” as an example, the author considers the problem of elaboration, application and constant adjustment of measurement system concerning the permanent enhancement of qualitative (content-related) characteristics of the journal and its advancement at the national level. The author specifies the key external factors, determining the general vector of developing national journals in total and particularly the journal under consideration. Among the main work areas of the journal's editorial board the following fields can be mentioned: work with the journal's authors, adjustment of the journal to the international requirements of execution, advancement of the journal at the national and international levels,marketing of the journal, and organization of the feedback with the journal's readers. Based on the conducted analysis concerning the work of the editorial board of the journal “Territorial Development Issues” during January - October of 2014, the author makes conclusions about the efficiency extent of the existing working methods and outlines the optimization ways of the current operating procedures.
