Main innovations in the field of regulation of the use of technical means of automatic photo and video recording of violations of traffic rules

Introduction. The article discusses the latest changes in the legislation governing the operation of technical means of photo and video recording of traffic violations. The author analyzes the main innovations in this area, including requirements for the operation of technical means of photo and video recording, a list of places of their installation, delineation of powers of various entities, mandatory informing citizens about the location and parameters of photo and video recording systems. Materials and methods. The normative basis of the study is the legislation governing the grounds and procedure for the use of technical means of automatic photo and video recording of traffic violations. The study used materials from law enforcement practice and previously published scientific papers. Research results. The author concludes that the changes are point-by-point, since the main powers in the field of installation and operation of photo and video recording equipment remain in the hands of the authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, for which ensuring road safety is not a priority. Conclusions and findings. Based on the results of the study, directions are formulated for further improvement of the system of photo and video recording of traffic violations.
