In the article the author reveals the main issues related to the peculiarities of the functioning of sports marketing. Aspects and some distinctive features of sports marketing from the basic concept of marketing are analyzed. Various examples from sports are given. The author also noted that sports marketing is about building special relationships with the media. All of these features should be taken into account in their activities by sports marketers.
