General approaches to describing the sets of terms in linguistics

The paper considered some procedural challenges raised in describing the sets of terms in linguistics. The paper examined the features specific for the study of the sets of terms in both synchronic shapes and diachronic alterations. The study substantiated the necessity of applying a package of approaches including logical analysis and philosophic outlook, linguistic and terms-specific approaches while describing any set of terms as an integral entity and its individual components, namely the terms and definitions. The outcomes of this study representing a review of actual approaches to study of the sets of terms, and pointed out the necessity of applying an integrated synchronic and diachronic approach to exploration of sets of terms in linguistics. The study specified the main characteristics of such approach having for the grounds the approaches of the subject domains allied to the study of the sets of terms.
