The criminal-legal category of "property non-violence" is examined from the standpoint of conceptual understanding. The norms of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, scientific works that touch upon the stated problem are analyzed. It is noted that this category, as applied to criminal-legal relations, was introduced relatively recently by the famous Russian criminologist, Professor O.V. Starkov. The allocation of property violence as an independent criminal-legal category is due primarily to the increase in such an important socio-economic value as property and the corresponding increased danger of actions aimed at the destruction, damage, desecration of someone else's property or impact on property in other ways. The article examines various signs of property violence, its essence, the difference from physical violence and psychological violence, etc. A definition of property violence is proposed.
