In the context of rapid digitalization of the economy and society, digital footprints have become an essential source of information for user behavior analysis, marketing, management, and cybersecurity. However, their use involves several serious problems and challenges. This article examines the key issues related to privacy, ethics, regulatory frameworks, technological limitations, and data quality. Special attention is given to practical challenges across various domains: business, public administration, and healthcare. The article proposes possible solutions and concludes that a comprehensive approach is required for the effective and responsible use of digital footprints.
