This article identifies the problems of motivating civil servants. The main features of the civil service labor process in the Russian Federation are presented. The problems of motivation of labor of civil servants are considered, and such as insufficiently objective assessment of labor efficiency in the civil service and the lack of accurate criteria for evaluating this efficiency were highlighted. The factors that for the most part create the problem considered in this paper were also noted. The measures were presented that contribute, in the opinion of the authors, to the solution of the indicated problems.
