The article reveals the main reasons of landscape fires on the territory of Russia and the Volgograd region during the fire-dangerous period 2007-2012. Conclusions are made about the trends of the fire situation, its patterns and factors, the authors make proposals to further reduce the number of fires and reduction affected by wildfires areas.
