The main tasks and ways of agribusiness development on providing the population of Siberian federal district with food

The authors see the development of food provision in the regions of Siberian Federal District as one of the most important task of agribusiness development in concern of food safety and import substitution. The food rations of the population should ensure the higher consumption of livestock production, and namely meat and meat products, milk and dairy products and eggs in comparison with average national rate. The research is aimed at analyzing the development trends of agricultural production and food provision in Siberian Federal District and highlighting the prospective ways of development. The current situation in livestock farming industry is very hard. The main reasons that prevent its development are concerned with low economic efficiency of the industry and production; and low prices on livestock products. The extensive and intensive ways can solve the food problem. The possibilities for acquiring new resources that used to exist in the past are now significantly reduced. The key direction in the development of the food complex, increase in food production is the intensive way. On the one hand, the authors see the task of development of the local industries and raising the level of food provision and on the other hand coordination of the development of regional production, efficiently ensuring the use of interregional food resources.
