This article presents the actual problem of distinguishing movable and immovable property. Definitions of types of property in different historical epochs, as well as their differences from each other are given. The Rosreestr proposal dated December 9, 2022 on changing the qualification criteria for movable and immovable property was analyzed. Examples of "movement" of immovable property without prejudice to such are considered. A point of view is put forward on the account of solving this problem.
