Based on the analysis of normative legal acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the article reveals the fundamental principles and methods of selecting documents subject to archival storage in the system The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, including the stages of formation and registration of cases, as well as storage methods that ensure their safety. The article is of an exclusively applied (practical) nature. To prevent distortion (inaccurate presentation) of information this article uses legal vocabulary and terminology of the branch of law in the field of archival affairs for the internal affairs bodies.
