The foundations of legal regulation of detention as a measure of state coercion: general theses and some specific features in respect of juvenile suspects and accused

This article discusses a number of theses of the theory and practice of legislation concerning general aspects of the legal regulation of detention as a measure of state coercion. The author distinguishes their features associated with the selection of the coercive measure in respect of juvenile accused and suspects. The role and value of international legal regulation of these aspects are considered.
