The paper considers the fundamentals of theoretical provisions necessary for constructing electroinductive sensors of electric field strength. The sensitive elements of the gauge are spherical shells in the form of spherical segments located on the surface of a virtual sphere. The relevance of such developments is associated with ensuring labor protection and safety for the maintenance personnel of high-voltage power plants. The theoretical provisions are based on solving paired integral equations by numerical methods. Based on the results of numerical solutions, empirical expressions are established for electric charges, open-circuit voltage, and capacitance between sensitive electrodes depending on the angular dimensions of the spherical segments. A design solution for a sensor is proposed, which is based on two diametrically opposed conductive sensitive electrodes in the form of spherical segments located in a medium: the permittivities of the media outside and inside the spherical shells are, respectively, equal to 1 and 2. It is established that the most acceptable output signal of such a sensor is the open-circuit voltage. The obtained results of the work allow for an estimated calculation of similar electric field strength sensors.
