The article deals with the linguocultural peculiarities of the American dark humour. The phenomenon is considered by the means of the American history and culture. The jokes from the American talk shows (Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live) and films (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Archer) are used as the basis for the study.
