The article examines characteristics of the programmable logic device Speedster22i, belonging to the FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) type and produced by the company Achronix. The architecture and clocking of the FPGA are analyzed. It turns out that it is a case of not absence of synchronization but of synchronization of multiple distributed nodes, so the FPGA cannot be called a self-timed.
