Features of European nihilism according to Martin Heidegger

The article examines the features of European nihilism and its development in the philosophy of M. Heidegger. The author analyzes the question of the essence of thinking and metaphysics, of the connection between the ethical aspect of the thinking of the philosopher himself. The attention is focused on the identification of the polysemy of the concept of nihilism by M. Heidegger and his ambiguous attitude towards metaphysics itself. The critical attitude of M. Heidegger to European history, which gave birth to nihilism, is revealed. The concept of M. Heidegger of nihilism as thinking that does not raise the question of NOTHING is substantiated. The article shows the attitude of M. Heidegger to European nihilism, revealing the peculiarity of his philosophy in the fact that the person himself and his obligations are understood in it only in the light of the thinking of being, excluding morality itself.
