The study included 75 children with a birth weight from 560 to 1500 g. The gestational age was 24-32 weeks. Depending on the birth weight, the children were divided into 2 groups. Groups 1 included children with a birth weight of up to 1000 g, and group 2 included children with a birth weight of 1001 to 1500 g. The results of the study showed that mothers of premature newborns had a high incidence of somatic, gynecological diseases, pathology of pregnancy and childbirth, which contributed to the development of fetoplacental insufficiency and pregnancy. The average physical development of premature newborns at birth corresponded to the gestation period. In dynamics, by the end of the neonatal period, physical development indicators in all groups were significantly lower than in healthy newborns.
