Features of physical development of children of the ulyanovsk region

Research of physical parameters of two hundred children of the Ulyanovsk region aged from seven till eighteen years is given in this work. During it indicators of growth, weight, a circle of the head and waist, a somatoskopiya and degree of development of secondary sexual characteristics of children were calculated. The measurements were obtained by using standard tools. Also, the statistical analysis of the main anthropometric and biological indicators of school students of the Ulyanovsk region, a comparison of the latter with analogical indicators of Samara, Astrakhan and Moscow regions, and with the relevant standards established by WHO is carried out. It is proved that the physical parameters of height, weight, circumference of the chest and head, and other indicators of children of the Ulyanovsk region correspond to similar indicators of children of the Samara region. At the same time it is noted that parameters of physical development of children of our region differ from indicators of children of the Astrakhan and Moscow areas. It is important that the statistical analysis of the harmony of physical development, during which it was revealed that the harmonious development have 49-50 % of children studied. It is important in our opinion is the fact that 20 % of children disharmonious development, causes of which are often overweight. It should be noted that at 40 % of school students pathology of cardiovascular system was identified, at 56 % - pathology of the musculoskeletal system and 40 % of children had violations from the visual apparatus.
