The features of the early state formation on the ryukyu islands

The article discusses the features of the social and political development of the Ryukyu archipelago during Kaizuka and Gusuku periods. At the same time, the author presents a comprehensive analysis of the state formation stages on the Ryukyu Islands up to the 16th century, paying particular attention to the establishment of diplomatic and vassal relations between the Ryukyu Islands and China, as well as assessing the importance of trade relations and international relations for strengthening the authority of the Ryukyu rulers, rapid economic growth of the kingdom and the rise of its status in the region.
