Features of photoabsorption on "core-shell" nanoparticles in various matrices in the presence of plasmon resonances

The work is devoted to the study of the features of absorption of electromagnetic radiation on spherical nanoparticles with a metal core and a semiconductor coating in the spectral range covering the plasmon resonances of nanospheres from the substance of the core and coating. The calculation is carried out within the framework of the dipole approximation and the Drude model for the dielectric constant for various matrices and geometric parameters of a nanoparticle. It is shown that the absorption spectrum contains two peaks corresponding to plasmon resonances of the core and coating matter. It is found that with a change in the ratio of the core radius to the nanoparticle radius, as well as the dielectric constant of the matrix, the position of the high frequency peak shifts noticeably, while the low frequency maximum remains practically unchanged.
