The details of functional recovery after surgical treatment of children with congenital shortening of lower limbs

The functional results of treatment have been studied in 239 children with congenital shortenings and developmental anomalies of lower limbs. Both the early started surgical treatment and high-division 24-hour distraction create the conditions for the favorable course of rehabilitation process and for the development of muscular system, the increase of the reserve potentials of vascular bed, thereby decreasing or ruling out the negative role of soft tissue dysplasia in the pathogenesis of disease.
