Characteristics of functional activity of effectors of inherent immunity of cancer patients with sepsis

The comparative assessment of cytotoxic and phagocytic activities of blood leukocytes for cancer patients with sepsis but without signs of systemic suppurative inflammation and for healthy donors was carried out. Functional reactivity of effectors of inherent immunity was estimated by the level of natural killer activity, absorbed activity (stimulated with latex particles) and by the spontaneous and stimulated HCT-test. No significant difference in the level of functional activity of leukocytes between healthy donors and cancer patients having no signs of suppurative-septic complications was found. However, cancer patients with sepsis had hyperactivation of effectors-cells of inherent immunity, that it can be considered as an important link in pathogenesis of organ and polyorgan insufficiencies.
