Peculiarities of functioning of American youth slang in the literary text

The article is devoted to the functioning of the American youth slang in the literary text (on the material of the popular dystopian novel "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner). As a result of the study, it was found that the prevailing slang functions in this work are emotionally evaluative and expressive.
