Features of the hydro grid, lithogenic base and anthropogenic load of the Mara river basin (Karachay-Cherkessia)

The article presents the results of the geological and geoecological survey of the Mara River basin, the right tributary of the Kuban River (Karachay-Cherkessia). The Mary basin has a lens-shaped plan, and the river network pattern is typical tree-like. Most of the basin is developed in the Humara formation, which is an interlayer of mudstones and sandstones with numerous low-power (0.1-40 cm) layers of coal. The limestones form a sheer cliff (escarpment) of the southern slope of the Rocky Ridge. Igneous rocks in the Mara River basin are represented by sills (formation-like intrusions) andesites and basalts. The anthropogenic load on the Mara River basin does not exceed the ecological capacity of the territory. At the same time, there is almost no land available for housing construction.
