Features of state management of the Russian timber industry in modern conditions

The article discusses the features of state management of the timber industry in the context of geopolitical and macroeconomic transformations. The development of the potential of domestic enterprises is significantly hindered by sanctions restrictions on the export of certain types of products. The significant deterioration of the macroeconomic situation has aggravated the wellknown internal problems associated with the underdevelopment of logistics, low level of production innovations, mainly the raw nature of production, partial development of the maximum annual volume of timber harvesting. Under these conditions, attempts are being made to change the concept of state management of the timber industry complex, taking into account its spatial and territorial location in the regions of the Russian Federation. A combination of strategic and tactical priority tasks is envisaged, the solution of which is necessary to preserve key business entities, their material and technological, personnel and production potential. Currently, the consequences of the current situation are the low share of the timber industry in the economies of the regions and the country as a whole, the shortage of high-tech products compensated by imports, and the irrational expenditure of industry resource potential. In this regard, the concept of state management of the timber industry complex should be based on the synthesis of management theories supplemented by various forms of partnership, without which effective integration of specialized enterprises in the subjects of Russia into global and national markets is impossible. The results of the study made it possible to determine effective methods for realizing the resource potential of the timber industry, as well as the main strategic guidelines of public administration in order to improve the technological, market and production parameters of the functioning of regional enterprises.
