The peculiarities of Hasidic religious tourism in Ukraine

The article investigates the features of Jewish (Hasidic trend) religious tourism organization in Ukraine. The author explores the peculiarities of Hasidim sacred places localization in Ukraine. They are mainly confined mainly with the graves of Jewish saints and preachers. The author describes in detail Hasidic religious shrines of Uman (the grave of Tsaddik Nachman and other). The Hasidic religious shrine of Medzhybizh (the grave of Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hassidism) is described also. The article also investigates other major Jewish religious destinations located in Podolia, Transcarpathia as well as in Western Ukraine. The author considers the main centers of Jews pilgrimage to the places of mass destruction of the population during the Holocaust and Nazi occupation, and modern religious centers of the Jewish community, created for religious events. An absence of serious scientific researches regarding the identification, valuation and demarcation of Jewish sacred places of pilgrimage, as well as an insufficiently developed legislative base that would provide adequate legal protection for objects of Jewish pilgrimage are the main development problems of Hassidic religious tourism in Ukraine...
