Peculiarities of the Christianization of North Africa The article analyzes the main features of the Christianization of North Africa in ancient times on the basis of written sources and archaeological data. The author focuses on issues related to the formation of the early Christian communities and the emergence of the North African Church in the 2nd Century, as well as the history of Christianity in the region during the persecutions (end of the 2nd Century to 313) to identify the reasons for the rapid, as compared with other regions of the Roman Empire, spread of Christianity in North Africa.
