The article stipulates the role of merchandising in improvement a retailer’s competitiveness. The main elements of merchandising are presented. Different approaches to determine the place of merchandising in the competitiveness management of a retailer are presented. The role of different elements of merchandising in competitiveness enrichment of a retailer is shown.
