This article attempts to investigate the specifics of the functioning of the labor market in the context of digital transformation. The development of digital technologies has had a profound impact on the development of the workforce. This led to an increase in production, while the effort required by a person to perform specific work tasks decreased, which ultimately led to varying degrees of automation in certain sectors of the economy. It is noted that digitalization has led to the elimination of manual labor through the use of automatic devices while ensuring the accuracy and quality of the work performed. The article also notes that automation involves the eradication of various forms of labor and the obsolescence of certain types of professions. Humanity has always turned to the improvement of technology as a means of promoting society, even if it meant the destruction of certain aspects and norms of the existing society. This raises the question of what drives the organization of labor, and how technology is used as a driving force, even if it forces society to abandon its previous norms.
