Indicators of social adaptation in 383 epilepsy patients with the debut before 18 years aged between 24 to 60 years are investigated. The gender differences in family and educational status of patients with symptomatic epilepsy with early onset are not identified. Women with rare generalized seizures are more frequently married and have a higher education. Single men with rare generalized seizures frequently live in isolation from the family. We believe that revealed contradiction in terms of the social adaptation of men with rare generalized seizures is more related to the phenomenon of self-stigmatization than to the effect of the disease. Obtained data may be taken into account when carrying out rehabilitation measures in patients with idiopathic epilepsy syndromes.
