The article reveals the authors’ understanding of the ‘communicative skills’ category. The author considers the features of the dialogic forms of speech as an important component of communicative skills of senior preschool age children. The research results studying children's dialogue with peers are presented. It has been found that the successful interpersonal contacts of preschoolers in the communication process depend on the maturity of their communicative skills.
