Features of cryptology as a phenomenon of the world monetary system and analysis of their economic essence

The article is devoted to the study of the modern phenomenon of the world monetary system - cryptocurrency and, first of all, Bitcoin. The main economic indicators characterizing this phenomenon (trading volumes, capitalization of cryptocurrencies, etc.) are analyzed. The article also presents an analysis of the essence of this phenomenon, its distinctive feature in comparison with the “traditional” means of payment.
