Features of qualification of contraband

This scientific article contains a study of such a type of crime as smuggling. The specifics of the qualification of smuggling in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are specified in detail. The main components of crimes, their similarities and differences are considered. Much attention is paid in the article to the study of the trend in the development of the composition of smuggling in the aggregate and depending on changes in the economic and political sphere of the country, as well as customs legislation. On the basis of the current criminal law of the Russian Federation, the main types of smuggling are identified. At the conclusion of the scientific work, the moment of the end of the crimes of the smuggling orientation is determined and the directions for improving the criminal legislation on liability for customs crimes are outlined.
