Features of the mechanism of legal regulation in the provision of legal services in criminal proceedings

The article examines the problems of the legal status of a criminal defense lawyer (including a number of features expressed in disputes over the amount of a lawyer's salary/fee). The author notes the problems of improving the lawyer's activities in connection with digitalization, related to: 1) familiarization and signing of investigative protocols; 2) electronic interaction of the defense with the investigator, investigator and court. The possibilities of implementing the legislative consolidation of the lawyer's authority to carry out an independent alternative investigation of a criminal case, in particular, by conducting investigative and investigative actions, are being evaluated.
