Aim: to study the features of the metabolic activity of malignant ocular tumors of different localization with PET-CT study. Material and methods: 35 PET-CT studies 28 patients with malignant ocular tumors of different localization for the period from 2011 to 2014. Malignant neoplasms of periorbital area had metabolic activity in the range of SUV max of 6.8-17.9, the average - SUV max 14.0 ± 3.9. In formations with intraocular localization metabolic activity fluctuated within the range of 2.2 and 4.1, for an average of 3.1±1.2*. In orbital formations SUV max was 9.2-19.7, the average - SUVmax-16.0 ± 4.6. It was found that choroidal melanoma with positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography has a significantly lower metabolic activity, as compared with melanomas of extraocular localizations of malignant ocular tumors in periorbital and orbital regions, probably due to the presence of the blood-ophthalmic barrier.
