Present the modern understanding of the problem of drug toxicity and liver damage in patients with Gilbert’s syndrome. Gilbert’s syndrome is based on reduced activity of the enzyme glucuronyltransferase, which is the main enzyme in the second phase of drug biotransformation. Focus of the article is on the medicines, on which metabolism presents glucuronyltransferase. Drug therapy in patients with Gilbert’s syndrome should be composed in view of these genetics defects and special aspects of drug metabolism to minimize drug side effects.
