Features of interpersonal relationships and personal characteristics of people with emotional dependence

Emotional dependence is an urgent problem of modern psychology, which attracts the attention of society and scientists. Thanks to culture and the media, teenagers and young men are increasingly faced with emotional dependence. The article presents the disclosure of the phenomenon of emotional dependence through its structure, clinical and phenomenological approaches to the definition of the phenomenon. The main method of research is a systematic review of empirical studies on the problem of emotional dependence. Based on the results of the analysis of sources, a description of the influence of the phenomenon of emotional dependence on the sphere of interpersonal relations, as well as personal characteristics of people with emotional dependence, is presented. The concepts of emotional dependence and emotional need are revealed. The types and types of emotional need are described. Approaches to the definition of emotional dependence as an independent phenomenon and a separate symptom of some personality disorders are presented. The theory of effective dependence of J.Bowlby. The results of this study open up new ways to study emotional dependence and can be used to expand the concept of emotional dependence (taking the concept out of the context of partnerships), create a questionnaire aimed at measuring emotional dependence, as well as to highlight emotional dependence as an independent phenomenon.
