The features of national and cultural connotations of phraseological units (PhU ) with the meaning of speech process are considered in the article. On the basis of the analysis it is stated that the interior form of phraseological units is peculiar to cultural connotation, which trait is figurative and situational motivation. It is directly connected with the mentality of people - the native speaker.
