The peculiarities of the moral-patriotic ideal of A. S. Pushkin and N. M. Karamzin

Statement of the problem. The problem of the author,s ideal is one of relevant issues in literature. The author,s ideal is expressed especially brightly through feelings of spirituality and patriotism. The problem of the moral-patriotic ideal with special significance is manifested in the historical works of Russian literature. This article explores the peculiarity of the manifestation of the moral and patriotic ideal by A.S. Pushkin and N.M. Karamzin through the example of historical works of the writers, namely the drama Boris Godunov and the monumental historical work The History of the Russian State. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that the literary ideal of the authors is explored through the worldview of the writers, taking into account the peculiarities of the historical epoch. In addition, this problem is considered based on the continuity of literary connections. The purpose of the study is to identify, show and compare the characteristics of the moral and patriotic ideal, which is manifested through the author,s position, as well as through the disclosure of images of literary heroes. Methodology of the study. The paper uses a comparative analytical method to study the moral and patriotic ideal of the writers based on the texts of the works of Boris Godunov and The History of the Russian State. The review of the scientific literature was carried out based on the study of the opinions of such writers and critics of the 19th century as N.V. Gogol, M.F. Dostoyevsky, P.A. Vyazemsky, I.I. Kireevsky, A.A. Grigoriev, V.G. Belinsky and others, as well as literary scholars of subsequent generations, such as I.I. Agaeva, M.P. Alekseev, D.D. Blagoy, A.A. Gadzhiev, G.A. Gukovsky, M.K. Kodzhaev, Yu.M. Lotman, G.P. Makogonenko, I.B. Mushins, A.I. Nezelenov, N.N. Skatov, D.L. Ustyuzhanin, I.L. Feinberg, K. Emerson and other scientists who investigated the problem of the ideal in the Russian literature. Results. On the basis of the research we have identified the following scientific positions: - The tradition of continuity in literature influences the manifestation of the moral and patriotic ideal of the writers. - It is similar features such as humanity and nationality that determine the moral and patriotic ideal of Pushkin and Karamzin. - The study of the authors, view of the historical process helps to identify the characteristics of the moral and patriotic ideal of the writers. - The moral and patriotic ideal of both authors is revealed through the theme of the relationship between the people and power. This theme is especially brightly covered by the writers in historical works. Conclusion. Author,s contribution. The materials of this article can serve as a subject for further consideration of the problem of the author,s literary ideal, for this topic continues to attract contemporary researchers.
